UKAHT would not be able to deliver its programme of conservation and education to a worldwide audience without the generous support of other organisations.
Antarctica is an extremely difficult and costly place to operate. With the fantastic support UKAHT receives from its sponsors, it manages to reach goals that would otherwise remain unobtainable. UKAHT has an ambitious conservation programme to restore our British bases on the Peninsula. Port Lockroy remains our flagship operation, offering a window to life on base as it was for the early scientists in the late 1950’s to visiting tourists. UKAHT manage six historic sites in total, all of which require care and attention to ensure they remain accessible and representative of their history and reflect the human endeavour which went into their creation and the important scientific research carried out on base.
